At the end of May, ERA-BE welcomed a special guest to the Paulo Fire Service Academy: Luis Santos from Portugal. With over twenty years’ experience in fighting wildfires and forest fires, he brought a wealth of practical knowledge to Belgium.
During a fascinating presentation, Luis shared his insights into the upcoming forest fire season, the challenges faced by emergency services and the tactics used on a daily basis in Portugal.
For ERA-BE, international cooperation is a key pillar. By learning from colleagues who work in high-risk areas on a daily basis, we not only strengthen our own expertise but also build bridges between emergency services across national borders.
